28 AI agent policy templates, mapped to 12 frameworks.

The policy library in the Agent Governor, runtime authorization for AI agents, has 28 ready-made policy sets with 108 rules. Each set is mapped to requirements in SOC 2, ISO/IEC 42001, the EU AI Act, DORA and eight other frameworks.

01 · The sets

The library groups 28 policy sets into seven categories.

A policy set is a named group of rules. Foundations decide what agents may do on a target. The other six categories are essentials, security, data protection, financial controls, infrastructure, and third parties and oversight.

Install a set to get your own copy, then assign it to every target or to the targets you choose. In the product, search by a framework control, such as CC6.1, to find the sets that cover it.

02 · Coverage

ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 and NIST SP 800-53 have the most sets mapped to them.

Each cell counts the requirements in one framework that a set is mapped to. ISO/IEC 27001 has 27 sets mapped to it, and SOC 2 and NIST SP 800-53 have 26 each.

Some frameworks are mapped narrowly. HIPAA and PCI DSS each have one set, and DORA has three. Sort by category or by framework to see where a gap sits.

03 · Precedence

When rules conflict, the strictest one applies.

If more than one rule matches an action, the governor uses the strictest. A Forbid rule refuses the action even when a Hold or Permit rule also matches, and a Hold rule sends it to a person even when a Permit rule matches.

Foundation sets decide what agents may do on a target. Guardrail sets contain only Hold and Forbid rules, so adding one can make a decision stricter but cannot loosen it. Each rule has a priority, and lower numbers run first. An action that no rule permits is denied.

04 · Organization settings

Organization settings can raise a decision to Hold or Deny but cannot lower it.

Configuration › Agent Governor holds the rules that sit above every target. Hold and deny thresholds act on the risk score. The session guard holds an export after a sensitive read in the same session. Approval settings say who may approve and the risk at which two people must.

Change a value and the side panel replays your last 1,000 decisions to show what would change.

05 · Preview and update

Preview a change before you save it, and keep your edits when the library updates.

Before you save a rule, the preview replays recent decisions under the change and shows which would now be denied, held or allowed.

When the library publishes a new version of a set you installed, the set says so. Update applies what the library added and changed, and the rules you changed are kept as they are. Duplicate makes a copy that no longer follows the library.

What the governor does not do.

01

A mapping is not a certification

Each policy set is mapped to requirements in 12 frameworks. Mapping a set to SOC 2 or ISO/IEC 42001 does not make you compliant. Your auditor still assesses your controls.

02

The observed tier acts after the fact

For a vendor agent acting inside its own product, the governor reads the audit log, flags an action your rules forbid and can suspend the agent. It cannot stop that single action before it happens.

03

The identity bound tier acts on the agent, not the action

When the governor cannot sit in front of a vendor agent, it suspends the agent's identity in Entra, Okta or Salesforce and revokes its grants. It does not decide each action that agent takes.
